About the role

Manufacturing Technician

Location: Chicago, IL

Dimension Inx is disrupting the way we treat patients and restore healthy tissues and organs, using a proprietary biomaterials platform to develop 3D-printed therapeutic devices. We are a well-financed, venture-backed, seed-stage company with big ambitions, and currently ramping up for a period of rapid growth.

The Manufacturing Technician (MfgTech) will report to the Head of Manufacturing and Quality. The MfgTech will contribute to the overarching success of technical and manufacturing related projects by supporting the Manufacturing, Quality and R&D teams with activities in the production environment. The MfgTech role will require a technically focused individual who will work on multiple projects simultaneously and contribute to fast moving manufacturing and quality teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and conducting process validations
  • Identifying, sourcing and implementing process and quality improvement projects
  • Supporting the transfer of new products from development to production
  • Performing assigned product manufacturing and quality assurance tasks.
  • Generating and maintaining adequate quality system documentation (protocols, reports, notebooks)
  • Conducting quality checks on the functionality of parts and components.
  • Optimizing production efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings as needed.
  • Performing minor repairs and reporting breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Keeping equipment maintenance logs, as well as maintaining a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Updating productivity records and writing incident reports, if relevant.-Training new employees.
  • Collaborating with other departments to complete production orders on time.
  • Complying with internal policies and industry regulations.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; associate’s degree preferred
  • At least two years’ experience as a MfgTech, preferably in a regulated environment (medical device, biotech, pharma)
  • Knowledge of production processes
  • Experience with 3D printing or additive manufacturing preferred.
  • Extensive experience in performing quality control procedures and meeting production standards.
  • Working knowledge of computers and office software.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Great collaboration skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and problem-solving techniques.
  • This position requires engagement in a controlled manufacturing and a laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials and equipment
  • This position may require the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
