MATTER is moving

Here’s what you need to know about MATTER’s future office

I have some important news to share: MATTER is moving…twice!

Much has changed since MATTER opened in 2015 — with our programs and services, our global reach and the way that much of the world shows up for work. Our current office lease expires at the end of the year, and we had been planning to move at that time to a new location better aligned with the needs of our member companies. Our landlord, however, would like us to vacate our premises earlier, so we will therefore be moving out of our current space next week.

On July 16, we will open our temporary offices located on the fifth floor of the Merchandise Mart, which has been our home since we opened in 2015. This temporary location, itself a former technology incubator, will be a terrific short-term location for us as we wait for our new, permanent home to be built out. We will be able to accommodate all the events, programs and collaborative work that MATTER does in our 5th floor home.

Then, in April 2025, we will move into spectacular new offices on the second floor of the Merchandise Mart — with soaring ceilings, tons of windows with great views of the Chicago river and the city and a prime location near all the building’s amenities. We look forward to moving into a new space that better suits the current and future needs of our community of startups and corporate partners.

I will share more about our new location as details become available. In the meantime, if you’re interested in more information, visit our office relocation resource page.
