HealthQuest Capital’s Project PulseCheck partners with MATTER’s BRIDGE program to support underrepresented entrepreneurs focused on disrupting healthcare
April 27, Chicago, IL — HealthQuest Capital (“HealthQuest”), a growth capital firm investing in commercial-stage healthcare companies that meaningfully improve patient outcomes and reduce costs in healthcare, has partnered with MATTER, the premier healthcare incubator and innovation hub, on their BRIDGE mentoring program.
HealthQuest launched Project Pulsecheck in late 2020 to provide office hours to pre-founders, founders, and CEOs from backgrounds historically underrepresented in healthcare. MATTER launched the BRIDGE program in December of 2020 to provide free mentorship resources to entrepreneurs of color. In the first four months of the program, MATTER has connected more than 60 entrepreneurs to senior healthcare leaders across a variety of sectors. This partnership will expand both organizations’ reach and enhance the resources and network provided to entrepreneurs.
“MATTER has a phenomenal reputation for providing a catalytic community and resources to healthcare entrepreneurs. We are thrilled to provide the BRIDGE program with our partners and network to advance our overlapping visions of building a more inclusive future for leadership and innovation in healthcare,” said managing partner and founder of HealthQuest, Garheng Kong.
“The HealthQuest team has tremendous experience investing in and supporting great healthcare entrepreneurs,” said MATTER CEO Steven Collens. “The organization’s deep perspective on healthcare innovation will help us scale BRIDGE to reach more entrepreneurs of color and support their growth.”
Participants in the BRIDGE program receive guidance from mentors with deep expertise in a range of topics related to the business of healthcare. The addition of partners like HealthQuest enables MATTER to build a broad network of healthcare subject matter experts who will offer BRIDGE participants an insider’s perspective on best practices for fundraising and crafting their pitch. MATTER plans to expand the program to offer mentoring to 200 participants by the end of 2021.
