MATTER and KOSME launch innovation program

Five Korean companies to begin six-month program aimed at U.S. market deployment

May 25, Chicago, IL and Seoul, KR — The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) and MATTER, the Chicago-based global healthcare incubator and corporate innovation accelerator, today announced the launch of the U.S. Market Adoption Program aimed at preparing Korean companies for U.S. market success.

The global program kicks off in Seoul with a signing ceremony where a Memorandum of Understanding will formalize the collaboration. The event will bring together representatives from eight global KOSME offices and respective local partners that will support 100 Korean small-medium enterprises (SMEs) overall.

“Korea is home to some of the most cutting-edge technology enterprises. It is our mission to advance these solutions to the global stage where they can contribute to innovation advancement and drive the growth of our economy,” said Hakdo Kim, President of KOSME. “Collaborations with entities like MATTER make that market expansion possible.”

“MATTER is uniquely positioned to help healthcare companies enter and thrive in the U.S. market, and we are thrilled to partner with KOSME to support Korean ventures,” said Steven Collens, CEO of MATTER. “Collaborations across borders help improve health and healthcare globally.”

In the ensuing six-month program, five selected SMEs will be provided with MATTER programming and a cohort of mentors to advance their product, sales and fundraising in the U.S. healthcare ecosystem. Additionally, these companies will receive a year-long membership to MATTER.
