MATTER announces new series on AI in Commercial Pharma
Four-part series will run in Fall 2026 with support from EVERSANA INTOUCH.
Pharma brand teams are presented with a growing array of AI solutions across brand strategy, field engagement, market access and patient identification. But relatively few leaders are confident about how to prioritize use cases and determine which solutions will create real value and reshape their organizations to maximize the benefits of these new technologies.
MATTER, with the support of EVERSANA INTOUCH, is producing a series of conversations to explore the key opportunities facing pharma brand teams today:
- How should brand leaders prioritize their investments of time and money?
- Which tools are genuinely creating value, and what’s coming in the near future?
- What does it take to capture value — not just purchase a solution?
The sessions will bring together pharma executives, entrepreneurs and investors to address these topics and more. All programs will take place at MATTER in Chicago, with a livestream available, and will be moderated by MATTER CEO Steven Collens.
Here’s what we have planned.
Session 1 — September 14: The C-suite view of how AI is being used and what’s on the horizon
A conversation with Chad LaCrosse, vice president of global commercial business technology solutions at AbbVie. Drawing on his experience at AbbVie, Chad will share learnings and perspectives on how AI is evolving across commercial pharma. The conversation will explore emerging opportunities, practical considerations and lessons from early AI initiatives.

Session 2 — October 13: Where AI is (and isn’t) changing commercial work
Pharma brand, commercial, market access and analytics leaders will discuss their approaches to AI: where they are finding value, how they are evaluating solutions, what they are building versus buying and what they see as the most significant barriers to adoption. Speakers include:
- Brian Cantwell, vice president, head of AI, U.S. Pharma, Bayer
- Jared Joselyn, senior vice president, global head of digital health and emerging disruptive growth exploration, Sanofi
- Faruk Capan, founder, EVERSANA INTOUCH, and chief innovation officer, EVERSANA
- Additional speakers to be announced

Session 3 — November 5: Building solutions for the commercial team
Entrepreneurs will discuss the solutions they are building specifically for commercial pharma teams, the value they’ve been able to create, where they’re finding traction and what has been harder than expected. Speakers include:
- Supreet Deshpande, co-founder and CEO, Synthio Labs
- Josh Walsh, co-founder and CEO, Branchlab
- Ferry Tamtoro, co-founder and CEO, Revisto

Session 4 — January 27, 2027: Where the smart money is betting
A conversation with Andy Smith, partner at Oak HC/FT, on the investor perspective of AI in commercial pharma. Andy will discuss where investors are placing bets, how they evaluate emerging technologies, what they look for in commercial AI companies and where they believe the market may be getting ahead of itself.
Register for the January 27 program.
If you work for a pharmaceutical or biotechnology firm and are responsible for any aspect of the commercial journey, from pre-launch onward — including commercial strategy, digital solutions, data analytics, market access, medical affairs or innovation — we hope you’ll consider joining us for these conversations. In-person attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and additional conversation with the speakers and other guests.
