Meet the startups
AITRICS — Seoul, South Korea:
AITRICS utilizes world-class AI technology and clinical problem-solving capabilities to enhance the quality of medical services, safeguard patient health and improve the efficiency of healthcare professionals. Following approval from the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, AITRICS-Vital Care, an AI-based clinical decision support system, has been deployed in hospitals across Korea. The system continuously monitors patients’ conditions in real time and predicts the risk of deterioration at an early stage. AITRICS-Vital Care is approved for three indications and uses 19 types of EMR data to predict sepsis and acute severe events (mortality, transfer to intensive care unit, cardiac arrest) in patients hospitalized in general wards, as well as mortality risk in the intensive care unit.
BeyondMedicine — Seoul, South Korea:
BeyondMedicine offers cognitive behavioral therapy and recovery treatments to patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Through the application, patients can monitor their temporomandibular joint (TMJ) health through health and pain logs, manage behaviors that adversely affect their TMD, assess their condition weekly to track progress, stay informed about changes in their condition through reports and notifications, engage in essential activities such as exercises and meditation, access essential knowledge through educational videos and articles and manage their medications effectively anytime and anywhere.
BioTech Social, Inc. — Chicago, Illinois:
BioTech Social, Inc., is the parent company of a regulated crowdfunding (Reg CF) investment portal specific to medical innovation companies. Reg CF enables non-accredited investors to make investments of as little as $500 into startups. This provides individual investors or groups with interest in a specific disease the opportunity to target their investments and potentially expedite treatment.
CaseMed Engineering, LLC — Waukegan, Illinois:
CaseMed Engineering is an innovative manufacturer of dispensing and packaging solutions for medical industries. CaseMed’s all-in-one touchless dispenser applicators help medical supply companies who want to demonstrate industry leadership by providing relevant medical product devices and improve patient quality care and treatment challenges with cost-saving, mono-dose, single-use product applicators while increasing their customer satisfaction at the forefront of innovations with quality care delivery in mind and unlike less hygienic, ecologically unfriendly product delivery prone to cross-contamination.
healthKERI — Salt Lake City, Utah:
healthKERI is a venture-backed startup that enables healthcare organizations to exchange data securely. healthKERI has established robust new protocols and practices for clinical data exchange that mitigate most data exchange cybersecurity risks, without requiring vendor lock-in.
HERIBio — Seoul, South Korea:
HERIBio is a dentistry IT company, providing solutions like HERi2go and Dr.HERi. HERi2go is an online dental lab platform that connects dentists and certified dental labs worldwide, enabling dentists to order prostheses with a seven-day turnaround. Dr.HERi is a mobile application that serves as an AI-based implant search engine and a community service for dental experts, enhancing the convenience and efficiency of implant identification and professional collaboration.
Imagoworks — Seoul, South Korea:
Imagoworks offers a web-based, computer-aided dental design solution using AI, streamlining the digital workflow for dental professionals. Together with world-class technology, they are setting new standards for digital dentistry in the global market.
Lens2Recycle — Burlington, California:
Lens2Recycle is a smart, eco-friendly recycling appliance designed to meet the sustainability needs of contact lens wearers. Lens2Recycle eliminates the environmental impact of forever-plastics from soft contact lenses and blister pack packaging.
Machine MD — Bern, Switzerland:
MachineMD is an innovative medical device company that uses the eyes as a window to the brain, working at the intersection of neuroscience, ophthalmology and optometry. The company’s flagship product is neos™ - the world’s first neurophthalmoscope, which performs an automated examination of ocular motility, binocular vision, pupillary function and visual fields. Their team believes that systematic, objective, quantitative eye exams will increase provider efficiency, reduce clinical error and improve people’s quality of life.
MedDefend — Chicago, Illinois:
MedDefend is an AI-powered platform designed to cut down diagnostic timelines and end misdiagnosis. The solution assists in detecting chronic and autoimmune conditions that are often overlooked, bridges the gap on provider knowledge with continued training and creates custom health journey reports for patients.
MindMetrix — Chicago, Illinois:
MindMetrix helps providers make informed diagnostic decisions about a patient’s mental health, quickly. It provides a comprehensive online mental health self-assessment that patients can complete in just 45 minutes, delivering an in-depth PDF report for providers that identifies elevated probabilities for over 60 DSM-5 conditions, and recommended next steps for each. MindMetrix was developed by the Rochester Center for Behavioral Medicine, drawing on 25+ years of clinical experience and 60+ industry-leading, peer-reviewed psychological rating tools and tests.
ModoScript — Miami, Florida:
ModoScript is a B2B medtech big data analytics SaaS solution consisting of a patient-verifying, vitals-collecting, reusable pill dispensing locked-cap, a patient mobile app and a provider dashboard to monitor clinical trials and oral specialty therapeutic dispensing adherence, persistence, behavioral/physiological trends and treatment protocol efficiency in real-time.
Monark Health — Woodstock, Connecticut:
Monark Health is a digital behavioral health treatment program for children and adolescents with medical conditions and health concerns. Monark provides live video therapy enhanced by personalized electronic tools and integrated coordination with the medical team to improve health symptoms. Their mission is to equitably expand the reach of trained pediatric psychology specialists and evidence-based interventions.
NeuroXT — Seoul, South Korea:
NeuroXT is an AI medical software company dedicated to revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Utilizing MRI technology with novel deep-learning approaches and neural connectome-based models, NeuroXT has developed two key diagnostic tools: NEXT-ATN, which precisely predicts regional accumulation of pathological proteins without the need for positron emission tomography protocols, and NEXT-ALZ-CDx, a companion diagnostic tool for amyloid-lowering drugs. NeuroXT is actively collaborating with global pharmaceutical companies and major hospitals, preparing for clinical trials and commercialization in the U.S. and Korea.
Octin Health — Edina, Minnesota:
Octin Health is developing a surgical device in the aortic aneurysm and dissection space aimed to reduce time on the cardiopulmonary bypass machine and, as such, decrease operative times, length of stay and hospitalization costs. This device will reduce morbidity and mortality in a set of operations that carry some of the highest morbidity and mortality rates in the specialty.
Ophthalytics — Marietta, Georgia:
In 2020, driven by the frustration of his parents’ struggle to get an eye exam in Atlanta due to a shortage of retina specialists, Ophthalytics’ founder, an experienced AI engineer, teamed up with his physician wife to develop a groundbreaking AI model for autonomous Diabetic Retinopathy detection. With a strong team of AI experts and eye specialists, Ophthalytics was launched, successfully completing over 100,000 exams. Ophthalytics has garnered major support from AWS and Nvidia and is now partnering with US hospitals to revolutionize eye care. Ophthalytics is raising funds to expand their AI-powered disease detection to multiple other conditions detectable via fundus images, including cardiovascular disease.
Phantomics — Boston, Massachusetts:
Phantomics is an imaging technology developer providing patients and physicians with user-friendly diagnostic solutions as alternatives to invasive tests. Phantomics team of experts in cardiology, radiology, image medical science and AI are working to deliver high performance imaging diagnostic tools to physicians.
RevitalVision — Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut, Israel:
RevitalVision is a SaaS-based, digital health startup offering a unique solution to millions of people whose needs are unmet by existing vision treatments. Their non-invasive technology enhances eyesight neurologically. RevitalVision offers eye care specialists a simple, easy-to-use tool to improve patients’ vision beyond current eye treatments, by targeting the brain’s visual cortex. RevitalVision is the only FDA-cleared product with efficacy claims to improve vision in adults with amblyopia (ages nine and over). RevitalVision utilizes brain science and proprietary algorithm-based technology, is clinically validated in multiple eye diseases and vision impairments, and has been approved for two new CPT codes by the AMA for the treatment of amblyopia.
Safair — Chicago, Illinois:
Safair is an AI-powered air travel accommodation platform and workforce solution to make flying safe for people with disabilities.
Secured Health — Baltimore, Maryland:
Secured Health is a predictive analytics platform for payers and health systems to understand who is at risk of readmissions to the hospital. Their platform helps deploy prescribed social interventions intelligently to address the social factors for readmission.
SMART Weight Management — Chicago, Illinois:
SMART Weight Management is an app-based weight loss/maintenance program. Their comprehensive program spans over 12 months, providing a structured curriculum with three weekly coaching sessions. These sessions are delivered via short, informative video clips (a maximum of 3 minutes) that provide daily weight, eating and exercise information.
TheraHome — Chicago, Illinois:
TheraHome offers private, personalized care for both mental and physical health through secure in-home and virtual services. Their platform prioritizes privacy and convenience for individuals who may be physically challenged or simply prefer the comfort of receiving care in their own home. From mental health counseling to physical therapy, TheraHome integrates comprehensive wellness services that prioritize the patient’s needs for security, privacy and ease of access.
Theta Neurotech — Chicago, Illinois:
Theta Neurotech’s wearable EEG patch predicts the onset of epileptic seizures 30 to 60 minutes beforehand. The patch, which is the size of a standard paper clip, is applied adhesively behind the earlobe. It continuously conducts and transmits the electrical activity emitted from the cortical neurons of the temporal lobe, allowing their proprietary AI algorithm to detect patterns characteristic of the “pre-seizure” period. In the short-term, their solution enables injury prevention and enhanced patient independence. In the long-term, they expect that the device, when paired with a seizure rescue medication, can prevent seizures entirely.
THYROSCOPE — Ulsan, South Korea:
THYROSCOPE has pioneered the world’s first digital monitoring solution for the 480 million thyroid dysfunction patients worldwide. Their evidence-based solution provides a safer and more convenient healthcare experience for doctors and patients.
Virdio Health — Santa Monica, California:
Virdio Health provides a solution for remote physical therapy (PT) at one-third the cost of traditional PT while achieving better patient outcomes. They are using AI and behavioral science techniques including augmented reality to realize these results.
Vision Science Labs — Los Angeles, California:
Vision Science Labs (VSL) is revolutionizing eye care with its AI-guided online platform. Their innovative vision testing and therapy methods allow patients to receive high-quality eye care at home, requiring minimal to no hardware. By making eye care more convenient and accessible, VSL is improving patient outcomes and transforming the industry.
Vitala Global Foundation — Vancouver, Canada:
Vitala Global Foundation provides people with evidence-based digital platforms to support their safe abortion and family planning journeys.
WovenXHealth — Chicago, Illinois:
The increasing demand for specialty care outstrips the availability of specialized physicians, leading to delays, clinical burnout and escalating costs as patients go untreated or seek fragmented, higher-cost care alternatives. WovenXHealth bridges this gap by connecting remote-based, specialty-trained advanced practice providers (APPs) with health systems and specialty groups through an AI-enabled platform. The WovenX platform enables on-demand specialty telehealth visits, flags high-acuity and out-of-guidelines cases for physician review and provides community engagement tools for peer-to-peer support among APPs.
