MATTER adds leaders to Board of Directors

New Board Members Include Entrepreneurs, Senior Health System and Insurance Executives

Chicago (November 7, 2017) – Four senior executives have joined the MATTER board of directors. The new MATTER board members are:

Joel Farran, senior vice president and chief brand officer, Health Care Service Corporation (Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma & Texas)
Kevin Schoeplein, chief executive officer (retired), OSF HealthCare
Glen Tullman, chief executive officer, Livongo
Eric Whitaker, chairman, TWG Partners

“We believe complex healthcare challenges aren’t solved in silos, so it’s important that our board of directors includes strong leaders from across the healthcare industry,” said Jeff Aronin, chairman and chief executive officer of Paragon Biosciences and co-chair of the MATTER board of directors. “We are thrilled to add these four new powerhouses to our already exceptional group of healthcare leaders.”

MATTER was founded in 2015 to accelerate healthcare innovation. The organization now incubates 200 healthcare technology startups and partners with 11 hospitals and health systems, five universities, and more than 40 industry-leading companies.
