MATTER announces cohort for Advancing Brain Health Innovation Challenge, supported by Lundbeck US Charitable Fund

Five solutions join accelerator addressing barriers in rare neurological disease care

March 5, 2025, CHICAGO, IL — MATTER, the premier healthcare incubator and innovation hub, with support from the Lundbeck US Charitable Fund, a corporate foundation dedicated to responsibly giving back to the community, has selected five startups to participate in the Advancing Brain Health Innovation Challenge. The challenge is designed to address barriers to redefine care for people with rare neurological diseases.

This twelve-week cohort-based accelerator will provide participants with mentorship, exclusive resources and an interactive curriculum to help them build their solutions and accelerate their growth. Each participant will receive a $10,000 stipend upon completion of the challenge. At the end of the 10-week accelerator, one participant will be chosen to conduct a validation study with a validation site.

Cami Health — Arlington, Massachusetts
Cami is a digital assistant for families caring for disabled people, taking on the mental load of managing and coordinating care.

CerTracker — Tulsa, Oklahoma
CerTracker is an AI-powered compliance and credentialing platform designed to streamline healthcare workforce management. By ensuring real-time compliance and seamless workforce readiness, CerTracker empowers nurses, providers and healthcare systems to focus on delivering quality patient care.

machineMD — Cambridge, Massachusetts
machineMD leverages the latest advances in virtual reality, artificial intelligence and infrared eye tracking to radically improve the measurement of brain function for noninvasive, fast and accurate early diagnosis of brain disorders and revolutionize healthcare at the primary and secondary care levels.

Saventic Health — Liepzig, Germany
Saventic Health is a global med tech startup leveraging AI to revolutionize rare disease diagnosis worldwide. By accelerating early and accurate detection, they help more patients access timely treatments or medical trials.

Steadiwear — Toronto, Canada
Steadiwear is a medical device company revolutionizing tremor care with its cutting-edge battery-free stabilization technology. Their flagship product, the Steadi-3, is an intuitive and lightweight glove designed to reduce hand tremors in individuals with Essential Tremor and Parkinson’s disease, significantly improving their quality of life.

Through the accelerator, the cohort will receive mentorship and exclusive resources designed to enhance their innovative solutions, refine their model and strategies and empower them to drive significant impact for rare neurological diseases.

Following a final showcase on May 19, 2025, in Chicago, one startup will receive a validation study and all participants will receive a free six-month MATTER membership upon conclusion of the program.
