MATTER Startup Shoutouts: Member companies acquired in 2020

In this special edition of startup shoutouts, we’re celebrating the MATTER startups who were acquired in 2020. January 2020: Lumere acquired by Global Healthcare Exchange

Lumere, a health technology company that provides physicians and hospital leaders with the information they need to build clinically integrated supply chain and value analysis teams, was acquired by Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) in January 2020. With Lumere’s advanced clinical data and machine learning analytics, GHX and Lumere will be able to provide leading information that enables health systems to align purchasing and utilization decisions with evidence backed data.


March 2020: SwipeSense acquired by SC Johnson

SwipeSense, a technology company on a mission to eliminate harm and waste in healthcare, was acquired by SC Johnson in March 2020. The SwipeSense hospital platform runs multiple applications simultaneously and monitors core metrics in one place to create a connected, collaborative ecosystem to improve patient outcomes and reduce the cost of care.


June 2020: Level Ex acquired by Brainlab

Level Ex, a company that creates medical video games designed to advance the clinical skills of physicians and surgeons, announced in June 2020 that they’ve been acquired by Brainlab, a digital medical technology company. The acquisition will allow Level Ex to expand their team to better support global markets and partners, as well as release new games in the areas of dermatology, orthopedics and oncology.


June 2020: PUSH Wellness Solutions acquired by Bravo

PUSH Wellness Solutions, a progress based health and wellness incentive program, was acquired by Bravo in June 2020. PUSH’s advanced technology platform will strengthen Bravo’s ability to meet customer expectations and allow for greater support for people on their wellness journey.


October 2020: Fibroblast acquired by Cerner

Fibroblast, a digital health platform that automates physician referral and population health management processes, announced their acquisition with Cerner, a leader in EHR and information technologies, in October 2020. With this acquisition, Fibroblast will rebrand as HealtheReferrals and continue to scale their business throughout the U.S. and internationally.


December 2020: Health iPASS acquired by Sphere

Health iPASS, a cloud-based patient engagement software and revenue cycle management technology company, was acquired by Sphere Commerce in December 2020. Through this partnership, Health iPASS will be able to advance their product suite to include more streamlined payment abilities and expanded resources.
