Every day, innovators across the MATTER community are building new solutions that accelerate innovation, advance care and improve lives. Here’s a look into some of the most noteworthy headlines from the startup members in our community over the past month.
Cubii acquired by Gridiron Capital for $100 million
Cubii, the developer of portable fitness devices and applications, has been acquired by Gridiron Capital for about $100 million. This partnership will help Cubii accelerate their product growth by expanding their product from direct sales-only to retail as well.
Cliexa wins Change Healthcare Pitch Competition
Cliexa, a modular digital intake and remote monitoring platform, recently won the Change Healthcare Pitch Competition. Cliexa received $2,500 in prize money after pitching their solution to Change Healthcare leadership. MATTER startup members Clearstep and Advocatia Solutions came in second and third place respectively.
Neolight raises $7 million in funding
Neolight, a medical device company that develops portable machines that allow patients to care for their infants at home, recently announced $7 million in funding. The funding will be used to accelerate Neolight’s growth both nationally and globally along with financing the development of other neonatal devices.
Nym Health secures $16.5 million
Nym Health, a company working to enable fully automated, efficient and transparent revenue cycle management for healthcare providers, announced a raise of $16.5 million in funding from Google Ventures. With this new funding, Nym will advance the development of their machine learning tools, as well as other technologies, and expand their marketing and sales efforts.
NowPow announces partnership with Educational Service District 105
NowPow, a personalized community referral platform, announced their partnership with Educational Service District 105 (ESD 105). NowPow’s partnership with ESD 105 has the potential to connect more than 66,000 K-12 students and their families to behavioral health resources in the community. ESD 105 also plans on utilizing NowPow’s referral network to address issues such as food and housing shortages.
wayForward and WiserCare win Pandemic Response Innovation Challenge
wayForward, a comprehensive mental healthcare platform, and WiserCare, a software platform combines clinical decision support and shared decision making, were announced the winners of the Pandemic Response Innovation Challenge sponsored by Anthem, Inc. and BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois. wayForward won the behavioral health track while WiserCare clinched the data sandbox track. Both companies will receive a one-year membership to MATTER and move on to collaborate with Anthem and BCBSIL, respectively, to validate their solutions.
